Are Siberian Huskies part wolf?
Although wolf-like in appearance, huskies are no more closely related to wolves than poodles and bulldogs are. While they're all dogs, some huskies may be crossed with wolves, producing a wolf hybrid. That's an entirely different animal from a purebred Siberian husky or its cousin, the Alaskan Malamute.

Can Husky or Aussie be trusted off leash?
Yes, they both most definitely can with the proper training, although with the Aussies this is an easier task as they are considered more of a Velcro dog, the husky is much more stubborn in this area. Try tethering to a long leash, this is a great way to train without losing control. Give them enough freedom to roam around but make sure they can't jump over any fences or escape. ... If you punish your dog when they run away, you may only frighten them and make them more determined to escape again.

Aussies usually get along well with other dogs, especially those with similar energy levels, but can be bossy during play which can overwhelm submissive or calmer breeds. If you have cats and want to get a husky or Aussie, we recommend that you strongly consider a puppy so they are raised together as both breeds have a prey drive– while this is not a guarantee that the dog will be cat-friendly, it increases your chances significantly.
Do Huskies or Aussies bark alot?
Siberians, true to their heritage bark less than many other breeds. The reason for the husky's infrequent barking may be that barking is a territorial call, and huskies like wild dogs are almost uniquely non-territorial. A lot of husky barking is an invitation to play.

Do Aussies or Huskies make good inside dogs?
Yes, both of them can be great inside dogs with proper exercises and mental stimulation they make great indoor companions.
Will either breed make a good guard dog?
The Aussie is a better watchdog as it will bark to alert you of strangers but lacks the size and aggression needed to be a guard dog.
The Siberian husky does not display the possessive qualities of the guard dog, they are to friendly and rarely bark, nor are they overly suspicious of strangers or aggressive with other dogs, therefore the husky does not make a good guard dog.
Are Huskies & Aussies happier in pairs?
Yes, both breeds do better in pairs as it provides them with a constant playmate to burn off excessive energy, just be aware of littermate syndrome and be sure to always give separate areas to sleep, separate bowls, and one on one attention at times.

All of the dogs and puppies here are free fed (meaning food is left out 24/7) we highly recommend this, when possible, as both huskies and Aussies are not typically overeaters, if free feeding is not possible in your household due to other breeds overeating, generally your dog should be fed three times when he is a puppy. With time, he will automatically switch to two meals per day.
Can i leave my dog at home alone?
Yes, once properly trained to do so. Home Alone! Siberian Huskies are a very social, pack-oriented breed. Aussie is a Velcro dog, so both breeds always do better when there is another dog, or a regular human present in the house for company. Left to their own devices alone in a backyard or locked inside both can become very destructive. crate training and company is highly recommended.
